2013 went out with a bang! Rob and I traveled up to Petoskey, MI for a nice little getaway, and dusted off our ski equipment for some fun. We arrived late Monday night, and after hearing great things about downtown Petoskey, decided to stop and grab drinks and dinner at Mitchell Street Pub.
How cute is their downtown!? Everything in Petoskey looked like a winter wonderland.
Our Eats; French Onion soup (mmm!), coconut shrimp, and Rob's black & blue burger. Had to have one more all out fried feast before NYE.
Our entertainment for the evening. Who doesn't love a good Jukebox? We seemed to hold sole responsibility for the songs for the night...don't mind if I do!
On to skiing! I had been looking forward to this trip since October, and it was well worth the wait!
Tuesday morning we were up bright and early, and were ready to hit the slopes by 9am. Temperatures in northern Michigan were WAY below freezing, but we didn't let the weather slow us down.
I hadn't been skiing since last year, but after a few runs got right back into it. Earlier this year I had been thinking a lot about moving and how I would like to be somewhere with warmer weather, but decided that all I really needed was an attitude change. I made a deal with myself to try to enjoy everything there is to offer in Michigan, and to really take advantage of everything that is unique to this area. This ski trip definitely reminded me of the kind of fun you can have not only despite but because of the cold weather.

Don't let all the cold weather gear fool you, it was FREEZING!
Stay tuned for Part 2 and a NYE recap!
